Another Sunday movie night!

Each Sunday we are giving you a recommendation of a film that is worth another watch and fits to the COSCA lifestyle.

You know we are all about the mobster and crime movie genre, but sometimes even a Don wants to have a good laugh. So that's why this week we have Analyze This (1999) for you:

Analyze This Movie Poster with Robert De Niro as a Mafia Member wearing a gangster like suit and Billy Chrystal as his therapist

Ramis, H. (Director). (1999). Analyze This [Motion picture].
United States: WarnerBros.
IMDb rating: 6.7/10 ⭐️

"Analyze This" is a clever and entertaining comedy that effectively blends elements of the crime and therapy genres. Robert De Niro gives a standout performance as a mob boss in need of therapy, and Billy Crystal is hilarious as his therapist. The chemistry between the two leads is excellent, and the film's witty script keeps the laughs coming. Robert De Niro is known for his intense and dramatic performances in films such as "The Godfather: Part II," "Raging Bull," and "Goodfellas." However, with this movie he has shown a willingness to branch out into comedy, starting with his role in "Analyze This." His comedic timing and delivery have been praised by critics, and his performance in this film has shown his versatility as an actor. Billy Crystal on the other hand delivers a hilarious performance in the role of Paul Vitti's therapist in "Analyze This," expertly navigating the comedic and dramatic elements of the character. The director of the movie Harold Ramis was best known for his work in comedy films, particularly as a member of the "Ghostbusters" franchise and as the writer and director of "Groundhog Day". Ramis' writing and directorial style often dealt with themes of personal growth and the human condition while using humor as a medium. His work was influential in the development of the American comedy film and helped to establish the "slacker" comedy genre of the 1990s. Ramis passed away in 2014 but his legacy and works continue to be celebrated and enjoyed by many people, and we definitely belong to these people. Especially for those of you who are into this genre but want to have a rather relaxed Sunday and some good laughs, "Analyze This" is a must-see, both for fans of De Niro and Crystal but also for anyone looking for a smart and funny movie and an entrance into the mafia type movies.

The song "When You're Smiling" from Louis Prima is used as the opening theme for the movie, and it sets a light-hearted and upbeat tone for the film. The song's catchy, upbeat tempo and joyful lyrics immediately establish a positive and humorous mood for the audience, which sets the stage for the comedic elements that are to come in the film. The song also serves to establish the time period of the movie, since it was written in the 1920s and the movie is set in late 90's.
